About Lenore Brooks Design
Lenore Brooks and Carmen Nave are sisters who share a passion for beauty, community, and the built environment.
Our team is comprised of Lenore Brooks, a designer and Carmen Nave, an anthropologist. Lenore’s design expertise and Carmen’s cultural research give us two different paths of insight into the connections between people and space which leads to more creative and holistic design. We emphasize quality of life in our designs, and work closely with our clients to identify and solve the sometimes obvious and sometimes hidden aspects of their homes that are working against them.
- People often mistake us for twins, but Carmen is a bit older.
- After her husband missed several perfect moments to propose, Lenore took it into her own hands and popped the question herself.
- More than a decade before her ADHD diagnosis, Carmen’s best friend gave her the nickname “absent-minded professor-head.
After I graduated from the Humber Interior Design Program in 2004, I cut my teeth in the Toronto design scene working on multi-million dollar homes. I gave them 10 years, and then I moved to Kitchener Waterloo and started my own business. I love being able to work one-on-one with clients through the entire design process. The best part is seeing those moments where the design makes a difference in their lives.
I’ve always been fascinated by everything to do with people, which eventually led me to getting a PhD in anthropology. As an anthropologist, I studied people’s everyday lives, how they are shaped by each other and the places they live. I love that I get to create a unique role here, where I work with people and do research into the relatively uncharted territory of ADHD and design.
